Ayushman Card New Update : There is a great news for the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The government is going to increase the insurance amount under this scheme. 10 lakh rupees Currently, under this scheme, every family gets free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per year. After the implementation of this change, the beneficiary families will now be able to get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh.
This step of the government will prove to be very beneficial for the poor and needy people of the country. This will give relief to the people from the worry of expensive treatment and they will be able to avail better health services. Along with this, the government is also considering doubling the number of beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, so that two-thirds of the country’s population will be able to get the benefit of this scheme.

What is Ayushman Bharat Yojana ?
Ayushman Bharat Yojana is an ambitious health insurance scheme of the Government of India. It is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). This scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 September 2018 in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The main objective of this scheme is to provide quality health services to the poor and deprived families of the country.

Who are the beneficiaries?
The beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana have been selected on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011. It includes people from the following categories:
- deprived families in rural areas
- Households of select occupational categories in urban areas
- Former beneficiary of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY).

Expansion of the Ayushman Card New Update
- Increase in sum insured: Increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per family per year
- Increase in the number of beneficiaries: The target is to double the number of beneficiaries in the next three years
- Covering all individuals above the age of 70 years
- Additional Expenses: If these proposals are implemented, the government will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 12,076 crore per year

Online Registration ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण :
- Visit the official website pmjay.gov.in
- Click on “Am I Eligible”
- Select your State, District and Block
- Enter mobile number and captcha code
- Verify by entering OTP
- Fill in your details and submit
Offline Registration ऑफलाइन पंजीकरण:
- Visit the nearest Ayushman Mitra or Common Service Centre
- Carry necessary documents (Aadhar card, ration card, voter ID etc.)
- Fill and submit the form
